The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships:
The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships is the "Super Bowl" of horse racing - eight Grade 1 Championship races across eight different Thoroughbred racing divisions - all run on the same day! The Breeders' Cup is one of the richest days in all of sports, with purse money over $14 million.

What it's all about:
Action, excitement and the thrill of the big score! You will start the game with enough money to purchase a horse, provide it some training and enter it into races. You will also be able to make wagers on over 2,000 races during the Thoroughbred racing calendar. Your goal is to race and wager your way to the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships on October 29.

Starting a New Game:
Alright, so you wanna get in on the action!? To get started, identify your country and enter your player name. You'll be starting with $20,000 in your pocket. You can purchase a horse immediately by visiting the Stable, or you can go straight to the races, where you can watch and wager. For beginners, it is recommended that you first watch and wager on a few races to get a feel for how things work.

Purchase and Train a horse:
Have enough money to buy yourself a decent horse? A good horse will cost you, but even a cheaper horse can develop into a champion. Once you've purchased a horse, you will have multiple training options to further its development and give it a better chance of winning at the races. Use your training money wisely!

Race your Horse & Win Money!
Ready to race? Carefully select the races for your young horse from the available racing calendar, which runs from January 1 through the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships on October 29. You may compete in NTRA races from January through June. Beginning in July, things shift to the "Road to the World Thoroughbred Championships," where the purse money becomes richer. Your goal is to improve your horse enough to have a shot at competing in the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships races on October 29.

Entering a horse into a race will cost you between two to five percent of the purse of that race. Prize money will be awarded based on the following finishes:

1st place: 60 percent of purse
2nd place: 25 percent of purse
3rd place: 10 percent of purse
4th place: 5 percent of purse

Racing Calendar
This is your main calendar covering the entire racing season with all your favorite NTRA tracks. The calendar mimics a typical Thoroughbred racing season:

Jan - June: Regular NTRA racing
Jul - Oct: Road to the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships
Oct 29: Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships Day

You may advance through the calendar as quickly as you wish. Note that training your horse causes your horse's age to advance through the racing calendar.

Breeders' Cup Championship Day:
This is it - your end goal. Winning a Breeders' Cup race is one of the most sought after prizes in all of Thoroughbred racing. If your horse has developed enough to where you think it has a shot, and you have enough money to enter it into one of the Breeders' Cup races, you can take your shot at racing history by entering your horse in one of the eight Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships races.

Each Breeders' Cup race has certain conditions. For instance, the Breeders' Cup Distaff is only for fillies and mares that are at least three years old, while the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies is only for two-year-old fillies. Some races, like the Breeders' Cup Sprint, are run on the dirt, while the Breeders' Cup Mile is run on the turf. Research the conditions for each Breeders' Cup race to see if your horse is eligible to compete.
Selling Your Horse:
There are plenty of buyers for good horses. You always have the option of selling. Generally, you may sell your horse for about 25 percent less than what you purchased it for.

Network Multiplayer Races:
Race against your friends or anyone else online with this cool feature! Network races tend to be for even higher purses, giving you an opportunity to get in on higher action, win even more money, and compete directly with other players & friends.

Under the Options menu, you can turn on/off Net races. Once on (this is the default), you'll see this option in the main menu. Selecting it will take you directly into the multiplayer action. If this is your first time, you'll need to create a login account, with a userid/password and email address. Once you've logged in, it'll be remembered next time you go to Net Races.

From this point on, you get to select from a variety of races starting soon. You can either enter your horse if it qualifies, get in on some wagering, or watch a race about to start!

You can view more information on network races, statistics and standings at www.magmic.com/horseracing

Note: Other services, e.g. phone and SMS messages, etc., will be blocked while the game is sending or receiving data.

Retiring:
If you just haven't had any luck with your horse, or you've run out of money, you can retire your racehorse. You can then start again, get your $20,000, and pursue better fortune.
